How to get Spotify Premium for free on Android-Spotify is one of the most popular streaming music services in the world. It allows you to listen to thousands of songs, albums and playlists at any time and on any device: from smartphones to tablets, from PCs to video game consoles, and the list goes on and on. If you’ve read my tutorial on how Spotify works, you already know what I’m talking about; just as you will know that the free version of Spotify has several limitations: it does not allow offline song downloads, it interrupts playback with advertising messages and limits the streaming quality to only 160 kbps.
Another limitation – probably the most annoying of all – is that relating to the reproduction of songs on smartphones, which can only take place in shuffle mode, therefore only in random mode, not having the possibility to choose the individual songs to play. How boring, right? I bet you too, on your Android smartphone, would like to get rid of these restrictions and start listening to Spotify music without limitations, right? Just as I bet you would like to do it without spending a cent. Did I guess? Well, in that case I have two pieces of news to give you: one good and one bad.
How to get Spotify Premium for free on Android
The bad news is that you can’t have unrestricted Spotify for free forever – there are some apps that promise to remove some restrictions from the free version of the service, but they are illegal and, perhaps more importantly, are unsafe as they come from sources unknown -, the beautiful thing is that it is possible to try Spotify Premium at no cost for fairly long periods of time and without any obligation to renew. Furthermore, there are telephone tariffs that allow you to use Spotify both on smartphones and tablets without consuming data: basically free! Spotify Premium free for 7 days (no renewal)
If you are not yet registered with Spotify, you are entitled to try the Premium version for free of the service for 7 days. In this case there is no automatic renewal and, therefore, at the end of the trial you will not have to remember to deactivate absolutely anything! Obviously, at the end of the trial, you can then choose in total freedom whether to continue using the free version of Spotify (with all the limitations of the case) or whether to subscribe to a Premium subscription.
First, download the app Spotify Music from the Google Play Store using the link I just provided and, once the download is complete, start the application by pressing the button You open or by pressing its icon located on the home screen. Then, create your account by tapping the green button sign up for free and entering your address in the appropriate text fields e-mail it’s a password safe. Then press the button Come on and, in the following screens, indicate yours date of birthyours sex and press the green button I accept to accept the terms and conditions of use of the service.
You should now receive an email to the email address you provided above: click on the link that was sent to you to confirm the creation of your account. Alternatively, you can also decide to authenticate through your account Facebook by pressing the appropriate button on the home screen of the app. Once logged in, press the green button Keep on creating a personalized playlist by tapping on your favorite genres and artists and, when the operation is complete, press on the item end (bottom right).
Now, to activate your Spotify Premium free trial for 7 days, tap on the item Your library (bottom right) and, in the screen that appears, press the symbol of gear to access the Settings by Spotify. Now, press the button Upgrade to Premium and, on the screen that opens, tap the button Start your free trial. Now you can use Spotify Premium for a whole week with no obligation to renew!
Spotify Premium free for 30 days (with renewal)
Does a week seem like not enough to figure out whether or not it’s worth upgrading to Spotify Premium? In that case, you can register on the Spotify website using any web browser and get a 30 day free trial. In this case, however, you will need to provide a valid payment method. This payment method will only be used as a guarantee: if you deactivate the automatic renewal of Spotify Premium before the 30 days are up, you will pay absolutely nothing.
Activate Spotify Premium Free Trial on Android
If you want to try Spotify Premium free for 30 days, connect to the website of the service using the browser of your Android smartphone or tablet (eg. Google Chrome or firefox). On the home page of the site, tap the button Choose Spotify Premium and, in the new Web page that opens, presses the green button Start your free trial.
If you already have an account, enter your login credentials to log in login and tap the button Log in. Otherwise, register for the service by tapping on the link subscribe (located at the bottom right). To register for Spotify, enter yours in the appropriate fields e-mailone password sure, yours usernameyours date of birth and yours sex.
Then affix the check next to the entries I agree to the Spotify Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy And I’m not a robot; after that, press the green button subscribe and your registration will be completed. Alternatively, if you want, you can subscribe to Spotify with Facebook by pressing the appropriate blue button.
Once logged in, you can activate the 30-day free trial by choosing a payment method valid among those available: Credit card, PayPal or paysafecard. After choosing the payment method you prefer most, fill in the form with all the information relating to the latter (e.g. credit card number and expiry date) and press the button Start the trial period and pay after 30 days. Please do not choose the Paysafecard payment method or you will be charged immediately for the subscription amount!
If everything went right, you will see the message on the screen You have upgraded to Premium which will confirm that you have activated your Spotify 30-day free trial. Also on the same screen, you will then see the exact expiry date of the trial, within which you can deactivate the automatic renewal in order to pay nothing.
Turn off automatic renewal
If you decide not to subscribe to Spotify Premium, please remember to turn off automatic renewal before the 30-day free trial expires. You can do this directly from the browser (in the Spotify app you can only see the active subscription type but you cannot deactivate it). So start the web browser of your Android smartphone or tablet, connect to the Spotify website, press the symbol (≡)tap the entry Log in and, on the web page that opens, log in by entering your credentials in the appropriate fields and tapping the green button Log in.
Once logged in, press on the item Account Summary and, in the drop-down menu that appears, select the option Subscription. At this point, press the green button Modify or cancel and, in the screen that appears, press on the option Cancel your Premium subscription and confirm the operation by pressing the button Yes, cancel. Within a few minutes you will receive a confirmation e-mail in which you will find written that you have just decided to cancel your Premium subscription.
Well done! You were able to turn off automatic renewal. You can still continue to try Spotify Premium for any remaining trial days.
Telephone offers for Spotify
If the solutions that I have indicated to you in the previous paragraphs are not congenial to you, you could think of activating some telephone offers that allow you to use Spotify for free. Some telephone operators, in fact, allow you to listen to streaming music on Spotify and other services without charging for data consumption. This means that you only pay for the subscription to the service but not for its use in terms of Giga.
