- Spotify Premium (9.99 euros/month or 99 euros, one-off, for one year) – is the subscription version of Spotify that allows you to listen to music without commercial breaks and with total freedom in playing songs. It also allows you to download music for offline listening (without an Internet connection). It offers superior quality music streaming up to a maximum of 320 kbps.
- Spotify Premium for Students (4.99 euros/month) — is a variant of the Spotify Premium subscription which is aimed at students enrolled in accredited higher education institutions. The characteristics of the subscription are the same as Spotify Premium and students, to obtain it, must be accredited on a special platform.
- Spotify Premium for Family (15.99 euros/month) — is a subscription plan that has the same features as Spotify Premium . The difference is that you can share the subscription price with five other people living together. When Spotify starts , tap the Sign up for free button , enter an email address and password , referring to the fields What is your email address and Choose a password and press the Next button .
On the next screen, use the text fields What is your date of birth and What is your gender to indicate the personal information requested, press Next , enter your name in the field What is your name? and then press the Create , Accept and No thanks buttons to finish the registration.
Now, you can start using Spotify for free but, if you sign up for the first time, you can optionally activate the free version of Spotify Premium .
If you have an Android device , tap the Premium button located at the bottom, press the Download Premium message that you see on the screen and indicate the payment method you intend to use to activate the trial ( Visa , Mastercard , American Express and Postepay as a credit card , or Paypal).
In the case of a credit card , enter all the required data relating to it ( Card number , Expiration date and Security code ) and then press the button Start the trial period and pay after 30 days to activate the free trial version of Spotify Premium.
If, on the other hand, you have chosen to pay via PayPal, enter all the access data to your account using the Email address and Password fields, then press Log in to connect your PayPal account to Spotify and activate the free trial version of Spotify Premium .
Acting from iOS devices, however, to activate the free trial version of Spotify Premium or to subscribe, you must connect to the official Spotify website via the browser you use to surf the Internet with your device; it is not possible to do it directly from the app.
Then connect to this web page , press the ≡ button you see at the top right, then press Login , log in with your account details ( username and password ) and click Login again .
Make sure you are in the Account Summary section , locate and press the item The first 30 days are free in order to choose, in the new screen, the payment method to use to activate the trial (credit card or PayPal). On computers

Deactivate or change Spotify Premium
After activating the Spotify Premium free trial , would you like to turn off the automatic renewal? Do you have an active subscription but would like to cancel or change your plan? No problem, in the following lines I’ll explain how to operate from Android and iOS smartphones and tablets and from Windows or macOS computers .
On smartphones and tablets
To deactivate or modify the Spotify Premium subscription from smartphones and tablets, it is necessary to act through a browser for browsing the Internet, as it is not possible to do it through the application for Android and iOS.
Then go to the Spotify website via the browser you usually use to browse the Internet from your device, press the ≡ button located at the top right, tap the item Login , to connect to your account.
Locate and tap on the Manage plan item , then on the Modify or cancel button. On the next screen, select the item Cancel the Premium subscription (if you want to deactivate the automatic renewal and return to the free version), click on Get discounts (to subscribe to the Spotify Premium for Student subscription , if you meet the requirements indicated) or press the item Add Family, to change plans and subscribe to the Spotify Premium for Family subscription .
On computers
To deactivate or change the Spotify Premium plan , you can also act from a Windows or macOS computer by connecting to the Spotify website in order to log in ( Login button ) with your account data ( email address or username and password ).
Once logged in, you may see the item Upgrade at the top right : in this case it means that you have already activated the free trial or have a Spotify Premium subscription . Then click on this item and press the Buy Premium for Family button. If you see Discover more offers, select it to possibly upgrade to the Spotify Premium for Student subscription .
If you do not see the Upgrade item on the screen, press your profile icon, then click on Account from the context menu, locate the Account Summary section and select the Manage plan button .
Click on the Modify or cancel button then on Get discounts for the Premium for Students item or select the Add button corresponding to the Premium for Family option to change the subscription with one of the two plans mentioned.
If, on the other hand, you wish to cancel the automatic renewal of the subscription, press the item Cancel the Premium subscription and Yes, cancel to carry out this operation. In this case, the subscription will remain active until the end of its expiration, after which it will be deactivated and you can continue to use Spotify for free ( Spotify Free ).
