How to see the most played songs on Spotify
Before explaining, word for word, how to see the most played songs on spotifylet me explain what listening data you can view on the famous music streaming service and from which devices you can do it.
Using the Spotify application for Android devices or iPhone/iPad, you can view your most listened to playlists and most played songs right now. In both cases, however, it is not possible to know the number of plays. The only data that can be known in more detail from smartphones and tablets is the number of monthly listeners of a given artist.
Therefore, if you are curious to know in detail the listening data of a single song or a specific artist, it is necessary to proceed from a computer by downloading the official Spotify client. By doing so, you will be able to view the ranking of the most listened to songs of the moment (both globally and in a specific country) and, for each song, the total number of plays.
On the other hand, by accessing the page of a specific artist, it is possible to view his 10 most popular songs with the relative listening data. Furthermore, the number of monthly listeners totaled by the artist in question is visible, with the possibility of finding out from which city the highest listeners come from.
Given this, since the listening data visible using the official Spotify client are more detailed than those visible from smartphones and tablets using the service app, in this guide of mine you will first find the indications to see the most listened to songs on Spotify from a computer and, subsequently, the procedure for doing it from mobile devices.
How to see most played songs on Spotify from computer
As mentioned in the opening lines of this guide, it is possible see the most listened to songs on Spotify from your computer both through the Web version of the famous music streaming service and by downloading the official Spotify client on your computer. In the first case, however, the data relating to the number of reproductions of the individual tracks are not reported.
For this reason, to get a detailed account of the most listened to songs on Spotify, I recommend using the service’s desktop application. If you still haven’t downloaded the program in question to your computer, you can take a look at my guide on how to download Spotify.
After launching Spotify, click the button Log in enter your data in the fields Email address And Password and press the button again Log into log in (or click on the button Facebook, if you registered via it in the past). If, on the other hand, you haven’t registered on Spotify yet, click on the item subscribe enter the required data in the fields E-mail, Create a password And What should we call you? and press the button Continues then specify yours date of birth and yours type of belonging and select the option Sign up for Spotify to create your account.
Now, on the main screen of the Spotify software, locate the section The most listened to playlists, to view the most played playlists ever. If, on the other hand, you are interested in finding out which playlists are most listened to by musical genre, select the option Navigatevisible in the sidebar on the left, select the tab Genres and moods and press on the musical genre of your interest (eg. Pop, Reggae, Latin, Rock, Jazz etc.), to view the most played playlists for the selected genre.
How do you say? Would you like to find out which are the most listened-to songs of the moment? In that case, access the section again Navigateclick on the item Leaderboards and choose the option of your interest among Top 50 – Italyto view the ranking of the 50 most listened to songs of the moment in Italy, or Top 50 – Globalwith the most played songs in the world.
To find out which songs are most listened to in another country, click on the option View all related to the voice Top 50 by country and press on the country of your interest, to view the 50 most listened to songs. Regardless of your choice, for each of the 50 songs in the chart you can view the number of listens next to the entry Reproductions.
As mentioned above, you can also view the audience data for a particular artist. All you have to do is write his name in the field Near, at the top, and click on the artist of your interest. In the new screen that appears, select the option Overview and locate the section Popularto view the top 10 songs played by that artist and data on the number of plays for each song in the list.
Also, under the heading Listeners this monthat the top right, you can find out the number of plays totalized by the artist in question in the last month, while selecting the tab Information (in the section Where people listen), the cities with the highest number of listeners for the previously selected artist are also available.
How to see most listened to songs on Spotify from smartphones and tablets
If you prefer see the most listened to songs on Spotify from smartphones and tabletstake your device, start the service app and, if you haven’t already done so, log in to your account.
Now, tap on the item Researchin the bottom menu, locate the section Browse all and press on the item Classification, to view the most played songs of the moment. Then choose the option Top 50 – Italy and press on the item And moreto view the complete ranking of the 50 most listened to songs in Italy.
Alternatively, you can select the item Top 50 – Global, to discover the ranking of the 50 most listened to songs of the moment in the world. If, on the other hand, you can discover the most listened to songs in another country, in the section Leaderboardspress on the entry Top charts by country and press on the classification of your interest. As mentioned in the initial lines of this guide, using the Spotify app it is not possible to view the number of plays for a single song.
If your intention is to also discover the most listened to playlists on Spotify, press on the entry Home located in the menu at the bottom and locate the section The most listened to playlists, listing all playlists with the most plays. Pressing, instead, on the voice Research and selecting the musical genre of your interest, you can view the most listened to playlists by genre.
Finally, I point out that through the Spotify app it is not possible to view the most popular songs of a particular artist and the related listening data. However, you can find out how many monthly listeners the artist of your interest has achieved. All you have to do is select the item Researchat the bottom, write the singer’s name in the field Nearat the top, and tap on his first name in the search results.
In the new screen that appears, locate the entry Monthly listeners to find out how many plays the artist in question has had in the last month. Also, in the section Informationyou can find out if the singer is among the most listened to in the world on Spotify: if so, a is visible stamp with the position in the world ranking of the most listened to artists indicated.
How to see your most played songs on Spotify

To view the playlist in question, launch the official Spotify client on your computer or connect to Spotify Web, log in to your account and locate the item Only for you. By doing so, you can view the most listened to songs during the year of your interest. Unfortunately, however, the data relating to the number of reproductions are not visible.
To get more information about your listening data, you can use the service Spotify.me which allows you to discover the most listened to artists, songs and music genres since you joined Spotify. All you have to do is connect to the Spotify.me site, click on the button It begins now and log in with the data associated with your Spotify account.
Then press the button I acceptto allow Spotify.me to access your Spotify account information and data, process all available data and show you the most listened to songs, artists and music genres on Spotify.
