Spotify announces a new acquisition, that of Heardle. This is a musical game inspired by Wordle, which itself is an online letter game, offering to guess a word by several attempts, indicating for each of them the position of the well-placed letters and misplaced. The redemption amount is not publicly disclosed.

“For us, Heardle is more than a question-and-answer game: it’s also a tool for musical discovery”explains Spotify. “Playing Heardle just might help you rediscover old tunes you thought you forgot, discover amazing new artists, or give a title to that wordless tune that’s been stuck in your head forever”underlines the platform.
Players must guess a song from its first notes. They are allowed six answers, with each clue giving them a few extra seconds of music to inform their next answer. In the end, they have the opportunity to discover the song in its entirety, whether or not they have guessed the correct answer.
For current Heardle players, the game’s look and feel will remain the same, and the title will remain free-for-all, the streaming platform assures. And starting today, players can listen to the full song on Spotify after completing their game. Also, Heardle will land in new countries and new languages. And still later, Heardle will further integrate into Spotify.
